CORNING, N.Y. (WENY) -- The Gaffer District was lit up on Saturday night for their annual "Parade of Lights".
The evening started off with the lighting of the trees in Centerway Square and Northside.
Followed by the parade of lights, which stretched from Wegmans all the way down Market Street.
The parade featured entrees of all kinds, from local companies to fire departments.
But everyone stayed to see the last float, which was carrying Santa and Mrs. Claus.
"I've had so many people come up to and say to me that the parade of lights is literally the kickoff to their holiday season," said Gaffer District Executive Director, Coleen Fabrizi. "Great photos around the tree and with Santa. I think it's just a really special place and I'm glad we can make something special for our community."
Before the parade, visitors could listen to Christmas carols, or have a meet and greet with Santa.
This year's parade of lights featured over sixty different entries.
