WAVERLY, N.Y. (WENY) -- A Waverly man is behind bars after police say he went on a crime spree -- when he was supposed to be on house arrest in the Northern Tier.

New York State Police say 20-year-old James Coyne was arrested on several charges, including possession of stolen property, and two counts grand larceny on Sunday.

Police say they believe Coyne stole a 2012 Ford Fusion, and left it at a boat launch in Nichols. He's also accused of having two credit cards and other items that were from that stolen car.

Authorities in Pennsylvania told New York State Police to be on the lookout for Coyne -- who was under house arrest, but went missing.

Right before he was caught, police say he led them on a foot chase in Waverly.

Coyne was sent to the Tioga County Jail with no set bail.
