Traffic stop in Montour Falls leads to drug charges

MONTOUR FALLS, N.Y. (WENY) - A traffic stop in Montour Falls has led to drug charges for two men.

Early Friday morning, Schuyler County Sheriff's Deputies conducted a routine traffic stop on State Route 14. When deputies searched the vehicle, they reportedly found heroin, marijuana, a schedule II controlled substance and a weapon.

21-year-old Millport resident, James Shortt, is charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and 2nd degree Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia. 

23-year-old Alpine resident, Dustin Hubbell, was charged with Criminal Possessing a Hypodermic Instrument, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, and 4th degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon. He was released on an appearance ticket.
