Brooklyn Man Arrested in Elmira on Drug Charges

Elmira, N.Y. (WENY) -- A man from Brooklyn was arrested in Elmira on Friday and is facing multiple drug charges.

Police say 45-year-old Pedro Sanchez was pulled over for traveling 90 MPH in a 65 MPH zone on I-86. Police found Sanchez was in possession of about 40 grams of cocaine, 109 bags of heroin, 2 grams of marijuana, a cutting agent, digital scales, and packaging material. 

Sanchez is charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, one count of criminally using drug paraphernalia, and one count of unlawful possession of marijuana. 

Sanchez is currently being held in Chemung County Jail without bail.
