Steuben County man charged with illegally possessing rifle, leaving scene of accident

CAMERON, N.Y. (WENY) - A Steuben County man is behind bars for allegedly possessing a rifle illegally and leaving the scene of an accident.
The charges stem from two separate incidents.
34-year-old Cameron resident Ivan Caparulo was taken into custody by deputies on December 2nd. He allegedly had a rifle as a convicted felon. Caparulo's charged with one count of 4th degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon. He was arraigned and sent to the Steuben County Jail on $1,000 cash.
In a separate incident, Caparulo was reportedly involved in a motor vehicle crash in Jasper. He was issued a summons for 2nd degree Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, unlicensed operator, leaving the scene of an accident and having no displayed number plate.
