Suspect in Twin Tiers police chase identified

ATHENS, P.A. (WENY) - Authorities have identified the man involved in a police chase that crossed state lines Tuesday.

Court documents identify the suspect as 30-year-old Addison resident, Kevin Krowiak.

According to the documents, police were chasing Krowiak after he was allegedly involved in thefts in New York State. As WENY reported Monday night, the chase ended in Athens when Krowiak crashed his car on Sheshequin Road.

Witnesses told police he had run from the car. According to court documents, police tried to arrest him twice, but Krowiak continued to run. Eventually, he allegedly ran into the Susquehanna River, where four officers wrestled with him to take him into custody.

Two officers were hurt during the incident. One was treated at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pennsylvania. The other was treated at Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton.

Krowiak is facing a slew of charges, including four counts of Aggravated Assault. He's being held in the Bradford County Correctional Facility on $100,000 bail.
