BIG FLATS, NY (WENY) -- Star Wars fans young and old, were feeling the force Thursday night at the opening of "Star Wars: The Last Jedi."
Hundreds of people flooded the Regal Cinemas at the Arnot Mall to be the first in line to see the latest installment.
The last film in this series, "The Force Awakens" was a huge success at the box office.
It had the highest grossing movie weekend of any film ever in the U.S.
However, that was the first film in over a decade. This is the third installation in 3 years.
Alexis Lake says she had to be one of the first. "By tomorrow after work, everyone will have the spoilers already out there. So we're just excited to see it for ourselves and be ahead of all of our friends."
Another fan, Justin Gillule says opening night "is when all the best fans will be here. Everyone is here for a good time. I'm here for a good time and I think we're all gonna bond over a movie."
Experts predict "The Last Jedi" will lead the weekend box office. They expect it to bring in roughly $200 million in North America, which would be the top debut of the year.
