Horseheads, N.Y. (WENY) - The Horseheads Historical Society held its annual holiday open house yesterday.
Visitors toured the museum, which is located in the former Pennsylvania Railroad depot. The event featured a Victorian Christmas display, an operating model train and numerous exhibits.
Many first time visitors of the museum learned about important parts of Horseheads history including canals, railroads and fire departments.
Jim Zahorian, an Elmira resident and first time visitor, says, " It's a beautiful place, I recommend anybody to come down. It's spotless. They're doing a great job in here. It's decorated up beautifully for the holidays. I saw they were having an open house here today. I brought my elderly mom and my best friend and we've had a wonderful time here today."
The museum is open thru the end of the year on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 12pm-3pm.
