Bath woman charged with abandoning dog

BATH, N.Y. (WENY) - A Bath woman is facing charges for allegedly abandoning a dog, which later died.

According to the Steuben County Sheriff's Office, 26-year-old Jillian Nolan abandoning the dog in May and did not check on it. 

Police say they began investigating in September after receiving a report of a dead dog in a car on Buck Settlement Road in the Town of Bath. The remains of a 10 or 11-year-old pug wee submitted for a forensic necropsy. Due to the condition of the remains, officials couldn't determine a cause of death.

Nolan is charged with Abandonment of an Animal. She's currently being held in the Steuben County Jail on an unrelated charge. Nolan will be back in court next month.
