HORSEHEADS, N.Y. (WENY) -- A Chemung County Legislator says he will be throwing his hat into the ring for the County Executive. Ken Miller announced Saturday night at the Horseheads American Legion that he'll be running for the position as a Republican. During the announcement, Miller brought up numerous ideas, like on how to increase public safety, prevent tire dumping and support our veterans. Miller says even though he's the underdog in the race, he still believes his campaign is rich in ideas that he hopes will help make Chemung County great again.
"I've worked in business, I've worked in finance, I've had my own business for twenty-five years," said Miller. "So I'm bringing a unique perspective to it. Mine is a problem solving perspective. I kind of have the attitude of I don't know what I can't do, so I'm going to try everything and we're going to make it work because we're dedicated to making it better for the people in our community."
Miller says he's excited to meet with county residents and hear their thoughts and concerns. He says he'll be visiting every part of the county to make sure he gets his ideas and plans out to residents.
