Elmira Police Need Help ID'ing Suspect

Posted: Updated:

Elmira, N.Y. (WENY) - The Elmira Police Department is asking for your help in identifying an assault suspect.

On December 16th, 2017, the Elmira Police Department was called to the YMCA to investigate an assault committed by the owner and players of the Elmira Eagles Basketball team against the visiting team.

According to police, the victims suffered concussions, a broken jaw, and substantial financial loss as a result.

During the course of the investigation, police say the Eagles management, coach, and players knowingly mislead the department into believing the suspect, number 22, was Chad Dillard, a former player and Rochester resident.

Police have now learned that Dillard had already quit the team earlier and another person wore number 22 on the night of the assault.

Police are asking anyone who may know the individual wearing number 22 in the picture attached to this story to help identify him, and for anyone who may know Chad Dillard to have him contact Elmira police to clear his name.
