CORNING, N.Y. (WENY) - A Pennsylvania teen is behind bars after police say he stole a car and threatened to kill his father.

According to Corning Police, 17-year-old Bryler Bulkley is charged with 4th degree Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, 4th degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon, and 2nd degree Menacing.

Officers responded to the area of 280 Walter Smith Terrace around 3pm Sunday for a report of a man chasing his father with a knife. Corning police were already in the area responding to a tip from Pennsylvania State Police. They were told Bulkley had stolen a maroon Chevrolet Equinox from Elkland and was on his way to kill another person.

Police say they found Bulkley trying to leave the area in the reported stolen truck and took him into custody without incident. According to Corning police, officers found a large kitchen knife. They believe it was the weapon Bulkley was allegedly armed with.

Nobody was injured in the incident.

Bulkley was sent to the Steuben County Jail on $1,000 cash bail.
