Steuben County daycare worker arrested on sex abuse charges

PAINTED POST, N.Y. (WENY) -- Following a 3-month investigation, New York State Police in Painted Post announce the arrest of a Painted Post daycare worker.

According to NYSP, 36-year-old Seth A. McGannon of Painted Post, was charged with two counts of felony sexual abuse in the 1st degree. McGannon is accused of having sexual contact with another person under 11-years-old. The arrest came after an investigation at a local daycare facility. 

McGannon was arraigned in the Town of Erwin, and is expected to return back to court on March 7th. According to police records, he was released on his own recognizance.

The NYS Office of Children and Family Services, and the Steuben County Child Protective Services assisted in the investigation.
