Two arrested in connection to alleged robbery in Elmira

ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) - Two people are facing charges after an alleged robbery in Elmira.

Police responded to the area of Walnut and W. Third Street on Sunday for a report of people fighting. People at the scene told police a robbery had taken place.

The victim said two people had threatened to shoot and stab him. According to police, the victim was attacked and robbed. He was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and later released.

Police were able to find the suspects a short distance away. Alexander Root, 23, and a 17-year-old from Waverly are both charged with 1st degree Robbery.
