Burdett, N.Y. (WENY) -- It was a gorgeous day in Finger Lakes Wine Country.
Not all wineries are open this early in the week, but, with still so many to choose from I decided on Atwater Vineyards on the lower right side of Seneca Lake.
The doors were open letting the warm air surge into the bottle selection area. It was also a great day to be out on the patio looking out over the lake.
George Nosis, one of the winemakers at Atwater, spoke with us about why this is one of the best times of the year to visit the Vineyards.
He said, "It's a good time for people to come out to the wineries because they get a much more personalized sitting and tasting with the staff. This is a really nice time that you can actually come in, spend some time with the staff talking, as you don't have that many people here."
"So, it's a little more personal experience to come down during this time of year. I usually tell people if they got time during this time of the year to come down. This is the best time to sit and relax and talk with the staff, have a little bit longer time with the wines."
You may need an umbrella, but another warm day is on the way for tomorrow, so head up to the wineries if you have the chance earlier on Wednesday.
