Watkins Glen, N.Y. (WENY) -- Examining the past, and looking towards the future.
Schuyler County Partnership for Economic Development wants to focus on just that, economic development in Schuyler County
Last night's 20th annual meeting for the group was held at the Harbor Hotel right off Seneca Lake.
The get together also included local students, to get their input and to address a very tough question. What would it take to keep local talent to eventually move back to the area? Executive Director Judy Cherry and other keynote speakers went over past years and laid out plans for the future.
On the local high school students that attended the event she said, "What I love is that the students that are here are articulate, they care about the future. What we're trying to learn from them is what do we need to do in this community to bring them home after they've gone out, they've received a degree, or they've seen the world."
"How do we make sure that this is the right environment for them to return to. This is a goal that all communities across New York are striving to meet." Only time will tell on what physical and economical changes await Watkins Glen and Schuyler County as a whole.
