WAVERLY, NY (WENY) -- A recent traffic stop ended in five people arrested on drug charges in Waverly.

Officers stopped the vehicle on Chemung Street in Waverly just after midnight on February 27th. Police say the five people in the car all possessed drugs including methamphetamine, along with packing materials, a needle, and smoking devices.

Police charged 21-year-old Chaz Talada, 25-year-old Bryan Talada, 26-year-old Josh Chapman, 26-year-old Katelyn Rowe, and 23-year-old Jared Jayne with criminal possession of a controlled substance, among other charges. According to Waverly police, Chaz Talada was also wanted on a bench warrant out of Horseheads, and was turned over to New York State Police. Jared Jayne is also accused of giving officers a false name, to avoid being arrested, as he was wanted out of Bradford County, PA on an unrelated charge.
