TRUMANSBURG, N.Y. (WENY) -- Police are investigating after an alleged school threat put the Trumansburg Central School District in lockout this morning.
According to a statement posted on the district's Facebook page, administration was told by a neighboring district about a threatening social media post. The post allegedly contained a video of a student with a handgun in a school bathroom.
The district says all three buildings quickly went into lockout and hold-in-place.
Law enforcement arrived on scene minutes later.
According to District Superintendent Kimberly Bell, it was determined the video did not originate in the Trumansburg District and students were not in danger.
The lockout lasted about 45 minutes before classes resumed as usual.
