Cornell Police Seeking Suspect After Assault, Racial Epithets

Ithaca, N.Y. (WENY) - Cornell University Police are asking for help in identifying an assault suspect.

At about 1:30am on Saturday, police responded to a reported fight at the intersection of Eddy Street and Dryden Road. Police spoke with several witnesses who said a male Cornell student was verbally harassed with racial epithets and physically assaulted by an unknown male.

According to police, two Cornell students attempted to intervene to stop the assault, and were also assaulted. Two of the three victims were transported to Cayuga Medical center for treatment of their injuries.

The male suspect is being described as a college-aged white male, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall with blondish-brown hair and wearing a windbreaker with a full-length zipper and a New England Patriots logo.

The suspect fled the scene with at least two other men south on Eddy Street toward East Buffalo Street.
