ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- Foreign exchange students from Japan got a taste of what it's like to be an American on Sunday. 12 students and three adults from Nakagawa got a chance to make some pizza at Vincenzo's Pizza in Elmira.Their visit is a part of a sister-city exchange program between Nakagawa and Horseheads High School. The got to learn everything involved in the pizza-making process, from spinning the dough, to putting it in the oven.

"He teaches all the students, and the adults, and they each make their own pizza," said Horseheads High School Sister City Exchange Program participant, Gary Chollet. "It's interesting to see them twirling it up in the air and all of that. It's just a wonderful tradition that we keep it going."

Their upcoming week will include a trip to the Corning Museum of Glass to tour the museum, making maple syrup and even a hike before leaving for New York City on Sunday.
