COHOCTON, N.Y. (WENY) -- A Cohocton Woman has been arrested and charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child, according to New York State Police in Wayland.

According to police, troopers were sent to a Cohocton resident to locate a subject wanted on a warrant.

Upon arrival, troopers allegedly found 48-year-old Tracy Taber unresponsive. A 7-year-old child was also in the home at the time.

According to police, an investigation revealed that Taber's physical condition was "a direct result of her own conduct"; it was determined that she was unable to provide proper supervision to the child.

Taber was charged with one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child and was arraigned in the Town of Cohocton Court. She was released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to reappear in court.
