"We've had just a ton of positive response, you know everybody is always concerned when you talk about payment in lieu of taxes, you know the implications of tax abatement's, I get that. But, this is adding over a million dollars in taxes over the life of that pilot, brand new taxes. That's not a diminish of taxes its additional taxes to local government, county government, the school district. So those are all very positive features of the project as well," said Michael Krusen, President of Southern Tier Economic Growth.
The last public meeting will be April 25th starting art 9:30 a.m at the Chemung County Commerce Center, where citizens can make public comments on the project. The International Development Association will then finalize recommendations for the project.
Construction for the project is scheduled to start in the upcoming weeks.
