HORSEHEADS, N.Y. (WENY) – It was a great turnout for the Maker's Faire at the Arnot Mall on Saturday.
With over 50 different booths there was something for everyone to look at. From Star Wars to sewing to speaking to someone overseas on Ham Radios, there was a great mix of activities and displays.
Our weather team even got to show off their tornado simulator. The Maker's Faire was overseen by the Chemung County Library District and their director had many great things to say about the event.
He told WENY, “We like to celebrate the making spirit, and we know that a lot of people have interesting hobbies. We're glad that they can come here and share them with other people.”
“What I personally like is when you'll see a little kid sitting next to an older person who is teaching them to knit or make yarn, or how to sew or make a quilt. It's just a wonderful thing to see, generations passing on their knowledge.”
