Bath Police Department Releases Identities of Those Arrested in "Operation Safe Summer"

BATH, N.Y. (WENY) – Ten people have been arrested Thursday as part of a major drug investigation in Steuben County.

The announcement comes after a press conference from more than 50 law enforcement officers from 5 police agencies and Child Protective Service Workers from Steuben County.

The investigation, “Operation Safe Summer”, began back in February.

Officers say they are also seeking 9 others who are in conjunction with indictments.

“This cooperative multi agency investigation led to 26 sealed indictments being handed-up against 19 individuals for drug trafficking, narcotics, methamphetamine and other controlled substances in the Village of Bath, the Town of Bath and the surrounding communities," said Brooks Baker, Steuben county District Attorney.”

The Bath Police Department has released the names of nine of the ten arrested suspects, as well as their photos. They are:

Frank McCray, 47, of Bath

McCray was arrested for three counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, as well as three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree.

Gerald Iverson, 48, of Rochester

Iverson was arrested for three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and three counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree.

William Trenchard, 37, of Bath

Trenchard was arrested for one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree and one count of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree.

Gordon Clayson, 47, of Bath

Clayson was arrested for one count of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree and one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree.

Jessica Austin, 34, of Bath

Austin was arrested for two counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree.

Joseph Bennett Jr., 31, of Campbell

Bennett was arrested for one count of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree and one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree.

Carl McCoy, 50, of Rochester

McCoy was arrested for three counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree.

During the arrest of McCoy, a white BMW was seized and a large amount of crack-cocaine was located in the vehicle. McCoy was subsequently arrested for one more count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree.

Zachary Fulkerson, 27, of Campbell

Fulkerson was arrested for one count of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree.

Sean Riley, 32, of Corning

Riley was arrested for one count of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree.

Every suspect was sent to the Steuben County Jail without bail.

“This was an excellent example of inter-agency cooperation” said Bath Police Chief Mullen. “All members of the Village of Bath Police Department, along with all of our Steuben County law enforcement partners, are to be commended on an outstanding job.”
