13-year-old boy arrested for making online threats in Bath

BATH, N.Y. (WENY) - A 13-year-old has been charged as a juvenile delinquent after the Village of Bath Police Department says he made online threats regarding an upcoming function that is happening at the Bath Haverling High school.

According to officers, a concerned student notified a school faculty member who then notified Police about the alleged threats. The juvenile was charged for offenses that would constitute criminal Possession of a Firearm and Making Terroristic Threats if committed by an adult. Police say he was taken into custody and placed in a Juvenile Detention Facility pending a Steuben County Family court appearance. The Bath Police were assisted by the school district administration, Steuben County Probation and the New York State Police.

The investigation is ongoing.
