Howard Man Charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Also Allegedly Possessed Meth

HOWARD, N.Y. (WENY) – The Steuben County Sheriff's Department announced the arrest of a man following a reported domestic incident.

According to police, 31-year-old Robert Stehm of Howard allegedly “acted in a manner likely to be injurious to the mental and moral welfare of a child less than 17-years-old”.

Stehm also reportedly intentionally harassed another person while in the residence.

He was charged with two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child and one count of Aggravated Harassment in the Second Degree.

During the investigation, deputies also recovered two suspected methamphetamine production vessels, along with suspected methamphetamine oil.

Possible charges of Manufacturing Methamphetamine in the Third Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree may be pending.

Stehm was arraigned in the Town of Howard Court and sent to the Steuben County Jail on $5,000 cash bail.
