ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) – A suspect who was arrested in connection to a boy found in a dumpster on Elmira's southside in February has been arrested again on different charges.

In February, 21-year-old Kharii Monroe was accused of punching victim Israel Luna in the head, causing him to fall to the ground and lose consciousness, according to police.
Luna was later found dead in a dumpster near the intersection of Mt. Zoar Street and S. Main Street.

Monroe was indicted on two counts of assault and he and the two other suspects, Fabian Bonaparte and Jullian Rivera, were all charged with manslaughter.

Now, Monroe has been arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree.

The arrest stems from a traffic stop on W. Chemung Place in the City of Elmira. Monroe was also charged with several traffic infractions.
