SCHUYLER COUNTY, N.Y. (WENY) -- Officials in Schuyler County may be backing out of their support for a company to store liquefied propane gas, or LPG, in salt mines under Seneca Lake.
On Monday, July 9th, the full Schuyler County Legislature will consider a resolution rescinding support of Finger Lakes LPG Storage's liquid propane gas storage facility project. Finger Lakes LPG Storage is a subsidiary of Crestwood Midstream Partners.
The measure would repeals the county's support pending completion of future pressure-testing and subsequent review and approval by the state DEC. The move comes after Toxics Targeting, a company which compiles information on toxic sites, released documents in June claiming to prove the DEC knew of, and failed to disclose, leakage concerns.
