Cameron man arrested after allegedly abusing a mentally handicapped woman

CAMERON, N.Y. (WENY) – New York State Police have arrested a man following an abuse investigation in the Town of Cameron.

According to police, 36-year-old Charles Sullivan Jr. was arrested after police say he “engaged in conduct which endangered the physical, mental and morale well being” of a 21-year-old mentally handicapped female victim.

Sullivan was charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Mentally Incompetent or Physically Disabled Person in the First degree.

Sullivan was arraigned in the Bath Town Court and sent to the Steuben County Jail on $5,000 cash bail. 
According to police, the investigation into this incident is ongoing, with assistance being provided by the Steuben County Adult Protective Services.
