Horseheads, N.Y. (WENY)-- Two organizations are teaming up to offer a cooking class and lecture about the important of nutritional eating, and the affects your diet can have on your body if you suffer from Lyme or other diseases.

Lyme Feast is open to everyone, and will give you new recipes to try to improve your overall health. The class is happening on September 22nd from 11:00am-1:00pm at the Maranatha Bible Chapel in Horseheads. During this program, attendees will prepare foods which have high anti-inflammatory potential. While sampling the food, Dr. Dollinger will give a talk on food and inflammation and how to mitigate some of the effects of inflammation by changing your dietary habits.

The class is $40 dollars a person for those who will be cooking at the event. That cost includes food preparation, food tasting, nutrition talk, apron, and a cookbook. For those wishing to attend, but not cook, the class is $25 dollars, and that includes food tasting and a nutrition talk.

The cooking and food lecture will be led by Dr. Beth Dollinger. Dr. Dollinger is board certified in orthopedics working for Arnot Health. In addition, Dr. Dollinger is certified in Culinary Medicine and the head of Healthy Kitchens HK.
