Posted: Updated:

ITHACA, N.Y. – On Thursday, September 13, law enforcement officials are taking their oath to protect and serve to a new level, trading in their handcuffs and badges for menus and serving trays at the “Law and Orders” event taking place at various Applebee's Neighborhood Grill and Bar locations throughout Central New York and the Southern Tier.

The fundraiser will take place from 5 to 8 in the evening and will raise awareness for individuals with intellectual disabilities, as well as raise money for the Special Olympics of New York.

Locally, the Ithaca Police Department will be participating at the Applebee's located at 2300 N. Triphammer Road, Ithaca.

The Law and Orders event is an annual fundraiser organized by the Law Enforcement Torch Run Program, a year-round fundraising and awareness initiative by law enforcement agencies to benefit Special Olympics New York.
