Six arrested on drug and weapons charges after joint investigation in Canisteo

CANISTEO, N..Y. (WENY) – Six people are behind bars on felony drug and weapons charges following a joint investigation conducted this past weekend by the Canisteo Village Police Department and the New York State Police.

During the investigation, police say they located a Ruger .22 caliber rifle, an illegally possessed Hi-Point rifle, a loaded .357 magnum handgun, meth, heroin and marijuana.

The following suspects were arrested in conjunction with this investigation:

  • Donald Strope, 31, of Addison. Strope was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of an Assault Weapon in the Third Degree, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the Third Degree and various traffic infractions. He was sent to Steuben County on $100,000 bail.
  • Tyrand Scott, 29, of Corning. Scott was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree. Scott is due in Canisteo Village Court at a later date.
  • Lee Richeson, 57, of Canisteo. Charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree. Richeson was sent to the Steuben County jail on $10,000 bail.
  • Jesse Tomlinson, 28, of Addison. Tomlinson was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and sent to the Steuben County Jail with no bail.
  • Zachary Pecor, 36, of Addison. Pecor was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. Pecor was sent to the Steuben County Jail with no bail.
  • Deeana Brewer, 24, of Addison. Brewer was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree. Brewer was sent to the Steuben County Jail on $50,000 bail.

The investigation is ongoing.
