Elkland Man Allegedly Tries to Break into Homes Naked While High on Meth

ELKLAND, Pa. (WENY) – An Elkland man was arrested after allegedly setting fire to his apartment.

According to Elkland Police, 62-year-old Gordon Duff claimed he was trying to get rid of snakes that were in his apartment.

Duff then allegedly set the fire and left the scene with a knife and lighter; he then allegedly attempted to gain access to several homes along Walnut Street while also allegedly being under the influence of meth.

Duff was taken into custody and then transported to the hospital for treatment and evaluation. He was then set to the Tioga County Jail.

Duff was charged with arson, endangering property, causing or risking catastrophe, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and “similar misconduct”.
