Elmira, NY (WENY) – Thursday night an estimated 200 people attended the Elmira Corning Regional Airport for the Chamber of Commerce's business after business event.
The Chamber of Commerce chose the airport to be the host for the event so that the community would be able to see the airport after it underwent $60 million dollars in renovations.
Members who attended the networking function received name tags with their name and business on it. Cocktails and appetizers were on hand as people networked throughout the evening. The event is geared to make it more accessible to get in contact with businesses that other business may not interact with on a regular basis.
“The nice thing about doing business here in Chemung county is that relationships are really key. When you come to an event like this, people are wearing name tags, you can easily go up and introduce yourself to other people here, and I find that in a lot of cases people actually do get business done. Like I myself will see like 5 different people that I need to talk to and I can just take care of it here tonight and its a nice way to continue to build those relationships but also keep the pace of business moving,” said Kamala Keeley, CEO and President of the Chemung County Chamber of Commerce.
The next networking event will be next month hosted by a different chamber member.
