Corning, N.Y. (WENY)-- Downtown Corning will look like a Winter Wonderland Saturday night as Sparkle of Christmas returns for a 44th year.
The Crystal City Christmas event will feature horse-drawn wagon rides, a live reindeer display, dozens of vendors, and musical performances. Santa Claus will also be on hand to take free pictures in his crystal house in Centerway Square. All evening, Gaffer District businesses will be offering specials and promotions as well. The event wraps up with a fireworks display that was supposed to happen during the Parade of Lights last week.

Several streets will be closed off before, during, and after the event for setup and cleanup. Those include Market Street from Chestnut to Wall Streets, Pine Street from Market to Burmese Streets, Aurene Lane from Wall to Chestnut Streets, Wall Street from Tioga to Burmese Streets, Walnut Street From Aurene Lane to Burmese Street, and Chestnut Street from Aurene Lane to Burmese Street. The streets will be closed to traffic from 1:00pm on Saturday until midnight.
