Rome Man Arrested on Gun Charges After Elmira Traffic Stop

Elmira, N.Y. (WENY)-- A man from Rome, Pennsylvania is behind bars in Chemung County on gun charges following a traffic stop on I-86 in Elmira.

     The Chemung County Sheriff's Office says 27-year-old Cody Pedro was pulled over for Vehicle and Traffic Law offenses. During the stop, police say they discovered two loaded semi-automatic handguns inside his vehicle. Pedro was arrested and charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon. 

     Pedro was arraigned and sent to the Chemung County Jail on $100,000 cash bail. He is scheduled to return to court at a later date to answer the charge.
