Ithaca, NY (WENY) – Ithaca Beer Company threw a special anniversary party Tuesday night to celebrate two decades worth of business in the Southern Tier.
“Oh it's awesome, we have been able to get people back here that started from the very beginning and between wholesalers and retailers, and old friends it's a blast to have and see everyone again,” said Dan Mitchell, President and Founder of Ithaca Beer Co.
As one of the states oldest craft breweries...Ithaca Beer Company has been thriving for the past 20 years. In 1998 the company began as a small microbrewery and home brew shop in a renovated store front on route 13. Throughout the years the company has seen many changes, but Mitchell says it's been a rewarding experience.
“it's been exciting a craft business for the last 20 years, it's taken a lot of turns and certainly been great for us and been great thing to do for the last 20 years and we've had a lot of success to get to where we are now and it will be interested to see what the next 20 years looks like.”
The company launched a new beer called 20 Wild blueberry ale to kick off the party. In 2016, Ithaca Beer's taproom was chosen as America's 5th best brewpub in a USA Today reader's choice poll. Tuesday's celebration commemorated all the years of hard work that it took for the company to get to this point
