Drug bust in Southport leads to three arrests

SOUTHPORT, N.Y. (WENY) - Three people are behind bars, after authorities found drugs and other weapons at 918 Spruce Street in the Town of Southport. 

Saturday morning at 6:30, the Chemung County Sheriffs Office Special Services Unit executed a search warrant at the home. A large quantity of Crystal Meth, Heroin, and over four pounds of marijuana were seized along with a 9mm handgun, 9mm ammunition, .22 caliber ammunition, swords, a switchblade knife, and over $1000.00 cash. 

The Chemung County Sheriff's Office Road Patrol and Criminal Investigations Division say they have been investigating numerous complaints from residents around this location for a little over a month. According to the sheriff's office, the individuals operating out of and visiting this residence posed a significant threat to area residents. 

Theodore E. Hartman III, age 28, of 918 Spruce St., Southport, charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the second degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the third degree. 

Richard J. Matwiejow, age 30, of Odessa, N.Y. charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. 

Silsila A. Romance, age 26, of Odessa, N.Y. charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. 

The Chemung County Sheriff's Office says the seized drugs have a street value of $20,000.
