BATH, N.Y. (WENY) - On Saturday night at 7:16, the Bath Volunteer Ambulance Corps and New York State Police were dispatched to a 1 car motor vehicle accident with a car over an embankment which was discovered by a passerby.

According to the Bath Volunteer Fire Department the car had hit a guide cable to a power pole and continued over about a 30 foot bank stopping short of a large pond on County Route 10. After a quick evaluation, crews requested a helicopter to the scene. Advanced Life Support came from the Corning area.

The department says the helicopter came from Hornell and landed just North of the scene, at the top of the hill where Bath Ambulance transported the patient after fire crews setup a low angle rope system to bring the patient up the hill.

All units were clear of the scene and back in service at 8:40 p.m.
