CORNING, NY (WENY) -- Eight people are getting help from the Red Cross after an early morning fire forced them from their homes.
It happened around 3:30 a.m. Sunday at an apartment-home on Park Avenue.
According to the Corning Fire Chief, five units were badly damaged in the fire.
Thankfully everyone inside was able to make it out uninjured, but we're told several animals died in the blaze.
The Red Cross Disaster Action Team is stepping in providing emergency assistance to everyone who lived there.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
