SAYRE, PA (WENY) -- Today, Robert Packer Hospital is recognizing women in the medical field for National Women's Physicians Day. Guthrie continues to commend these women, not just for this medical holiday, but all throughout the year.
According to officials, Guthrie has 91 female physicians alone at Robert Packer Hospital, spread out among multiple units. The medical care organization has also put a great deal of effort in their Women in Medicine Committee, to help further the advancements and communication of female physicians in our region.
Today at Robert Packer I was able to speak with Dr. Katherine Lincoln, who is heavily involved with Guthrie's Women in Medicine Committee, and she said, "I love talking to women in medicine and in the community, especially to show younger women and children how important women are in medicine."
"The face of medicine has really changed in the last 50 years, and I am proud to be a part of the women who show younger children and other colleagues how wonderful the influence of being a women in medicine is."
Guthrie Hospitals also host several events throughout the year to celebrate women in the medical field.
