TROY, PA. (WENY) -- 26-year-old Joshua Gleco, a former Canton Borough Police Officer, was expected to be in court Wednesday after he was accused of having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old, but Bradford County Court officials say Gleco has been granted a stay of continuance and will instead be in court on February 27.

Gleco is facing eight charges, including four felony child pornography charges, three felony charges for illegally recording phone conversations and one misdemeanor charges for corrupting a minor.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, Gleco had a relationship with the 16-year-old from June of 2017 to June last year. Police say Gleco says he met the girl and her family on the job as a Canton Borough Police Officer.

The PSP Computer Crimes Unit conducted a forensic exam on Gleco's phone and they reportedly found multiple images of he and the victim kissing, recorded phone conversations, deleted text messages and 6 images of suspected child pornography.

Police say the secretly recorded phone conversations were not just between him and the victim. Gleco allegedly also recorded conversations with local business, agencies and offices.

With the victim, police say some of the conversations were of a sexual nature, despite Gleco saying he took the role of an "older brother" with the victim.

Gleco is currently in the Bradford County Correctional Facility on $200,000 bail. The Canton Borough Police Department says he has been suspended without pay.
