ELMIRA, N.Y (WENY) – In an effort to help the community beat this winter slump, the junior league of Greater Elmira Corning along with local restaurants hosted The Frosty chili cook off in Elmira Saturday.
Four local restaurants competed for the opportunity to be crowned the best. The Chill flavors varied from sweet to spicy, with some restaurants choosing ingredients like, brisket and mac and cheese.
“This is actually our first year doing the chili cook off, it's a new event for us, and we thought it would be something new and exciting for us to get the community together for the junior league, said Amanda Hillman, Fundraising Chair. So far it has been a really successful event and we had a lot of fun, and we hope to do it again next year. “
In addition to great food, the community had the chance to win some great prizes from raffle baskets and participate in a wine pull.
