BIG FLATS, N.Y. (WENY) -- Two local groups are taking a stand against "big tobacco" on national "Kick Butts Day". The Southern Tier Tobacco Awareness Coalition has been hosting the mural painting the past few years at the Arnot Mall. With students helping from "Reality Check" of Chemung, Schuyler and Steuben. The mural expresses devious and deceptive marketing practices of "Big Tobacco". For the kids, they hope it'll send a message to people to not be "replacement smokers".

"I hope that they understand what big tobacco is trying to do," said Reality Check student, Emma Pack. "They also take a stand with us, like we're doing, and they call it out. Like you shouldn't be doing this. It's not okay."

It took the students several hours to complete the mural. If you'd like to see it for yourself, it's located outside CoreAthletics in the mall and it'll be up until March 29th.
