ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- Meet Maggie, WENY-TV News' Pet of the Week from the Chemung County Humane Society & SPCA!

Maggie is a sweet and mellow six-month-old mutt who is looking for the perfect cuddle buddy. She is good with other dogs, but it is unclear at this time how she would do with cats. Maggie is also good with children ages six and older.

It is important to note that Maggie can be a bit jumpy when you first get to meet her. While she is not as jumpy or energetic as some of the other current animals at the shelter, the SPCA's Media Relations Coordinator Jaime Wolf recommends any children exposed to her be a bit more "dog savvy."

With Maggie and a bunch of other dogs at the shelter, Wolf additionally said they are in need of some donations, including dry dog and cat food, wet dog food and puppy pads.

Wolf also mentioned the SPCA will be holding multiple vaccine, spay and neuter clinics throughout the month of March. She wanted the public to know that the vaccine clinics are not just for vaccines. The volunteers at the shelter can also do ear cleaning, nail trimmings and microchipping as well.
