Man escapes Elmira house fire with no injuries
Elmira, NY (WENY) -- A house, with one person inside and multiple pets was destroyed after a fire on Elmira's Southside. Firefighters had to contend with large flames shooting out of the home initially, but were able to get control of the fire within about 10 minutes. Deputy Chief, Chris Putney credited the work the work of the fireman for being able to put out the fire so quickly.
Cheerleading program brings joy to girl with special needs
Kinleigh Burgess is a 4-year-old girl with autism from Corning who discovered her love for cheerleading through the Sparkle program. Sparkle is managed by the non-profit organization, Trust Allstars, and allows children with learning disabilities to learn cheerleading techniques every week free of charge at the Arnot Mall.
