It was a back and forth first half between Prattsburgh and Bradford in a clash of Section V heavyweights Wednesday night, but 2,000-point scorer Mason Putnam racked up 42 points on the night as Prattsburgh pulled away from the Braves, 79-59.

Big matchup in Section V Friday night as the 9-2 Bradford Braves boys basketball team hosted 10-1 Avoca. The Tigers led by 15 at the half, but then outscored Bradford 44-13 in the second half to win it 89-43 and move to 11-1 on the season.

The Elmira girls basketball team topped Johnson City 74-45 in a game that raised money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital on Thursday night. The night became even more special when Elmira's Zaria DeMember-Shazer grabbed her 1,000th career rebound.

The Horseheads girls basketball team used some hot shooting Thursday night to roll Union-Endicott, 74-32 for their 9th win of the season. Carly Scott led the Blue Raiders with 22 points, and she knocked down 6 three-pointers in the first half.
Wyalusing Boys Squeak Past North Penn-Mansfield to Move to 12-1
The North Penn-Mansfield boys basketball team held a 24-15 lead at the half over the NTL Large School Division leader Wyalsuing, but the Tigers were unable to hang on in the second half as the Rams squeak by Wednesday night, 51-49. Wyalusing is now 12-1 on the year while NPM drops to 7-6.
The Horseheads girls basketball team topped Corning 68-51 on Monday night to improve to 8-4 on the season. Carly Scott led the Blue Raiders in scoring with 27, tallying a career high 9 threes. Jillian Casey poured in 20 points, while Maddie Johnson dished out 12 assists. Jenna Granger added 12 points.
