CORNING, N.Y. (WENY) - Cleanup at the former Corning Hospital site on Denison Parkway will be getting underway in March.

The New York State DEC has released a cleanup action plan to address contamination at the site.

According to the plan, officials found chemicals like mercury, lead, and cadmium in the soil. The DEC says work will begin in March.

Some of the cleanup work includes excavating soil and removing a 10,000-gallon petroleum underground storage tank. The full plan is attached below.

The Guthrie Clinic, Corning Hospital, and Corning Properties Incorporated will perform the cleanup.
