Captain Bill's and Seneca Harbor Station reopen for summer season
WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (WENY) – Captain Bill's and Seneca Harbor Station are officially back up and running after closing for the winter months.
The restaurant reopened Friday to the public and plans to stay open until sometime in December. The business offers a variety of food from seafood, steak and ribs.
The restaurant sits right on Seneca Lake behind the Harbor Hotel in Downtown Watkins Glen, providing a lake view that also offers dining and sightseeing cruises.
Closing during the winter allows for the business to prepare for another busy spring and summer season to come.
“We review everything from last year, all the menu items, we pick some new things up that we added, the building gets redone from top to bottom, floors, paintings and so on, so we get a fresh start every year,” said Mark Simele, President of Captain Bill's and Seneca Harbor Station.
Dinner cruises on the lake are expected to start mothers day weekend.
“We see so many tourists come through, it's about the teamwork with the staff, it's about putting in the long days and it's just so gratifying at the end, it's just about being on stage everyday,” said Manager, Wally Bailey.
