Medical Professionals, Public Invited to Learn About Lyme Disease, Research Efforts
Elmira, N.Y. (WENY)-- A local Lyme Disease advocacy group is teaming up with Arnot Health to offer insight to the public and medical professionals about the ongoing battle against Lyme Disease.
The 3rd annual Nuts & Bolts of Lyme Disease & Current Updates is being offered by the Graduate Medical Education Department of Arnot Health and A Hope 4 Lyme. There are two different sessions current medical professionals at the public is encouraged to attend and learn more.
The Nuts & Bolts session is happening on Thursday May 30th from 12:00pm-5:00pm at the Holiday Inn Riverview in Elmira. It's open to all medical professionals. The session will feature several keynote speakers, who are all doctors researching Lyme Disease. The topics include approaching patients with early Lyme Disease, research development of Lyme Disease, Manifestations of Lyme Disease in Dermatology, Cardiology, and Psychiatry, and Lyme Arthritis. Lunch will be included during the session. The registration fee is $25 before May 1st, or $30 after May 1st. Registration ends May 15th. The second session is happening from 6:00pm-8:00pm, geared toward anyone interested in learning more about Lyme Disease. A Hope 4 Lyme founder Linda Wales will kick the evening off with an informational talk about what the organization is all about. Several speakers will follow, discussing research developments of Lyme Disease, new information about prevention, and more. This session is open to everyone, and is free to attend.
